Physical Appearance: small round little fur ball, he is a fresh baby Shinlai pup. He has a white undercoat and a golden yellow back with three dark navy stripes like arrows over his back pointing up along his sides. His feet fade from white to the same dark navy at the toes. He is scarred on all four legs and on his muzzle as well as across his left flank, his toes are much shorter as the claws have been removed.
He has beige horns that fade lighter at the tip and darker at the base. The angle up before hooking back and there are two prongs on the top of each.

Hobbies: he used to enjoy watching birds and chasing butterflies, now it is hard for him to find enjoyment in much of anything. he gets overly shy around other pups but once he gets going playing with other pups is his favorite thing.

Quirks: Talen is mute, but he can still make some sounds such as the guffs and airy sounds of surprise fear and sobbing, he can in some instances create a quiet and strained ‘squeal’ but otherwise nothing comes out.

Notable Skills: he can Groom himself now and he is very proud!

Personality: Quiet but curious and he very much just wants to play like any other pup. he loves to explore but hates to be alone. His major problem is that he has no voice and cannot speak, he has yet to learn any form of sign, he gets very frustrated when he is trying to communicate something and no one can understand, he sometimes will even bite people out of frustration or just start to cry. He is very easily and often confused and he tends to drift off into daydreams.



Bio: (still working on this) Talen was stolen from his mother shortly after he was born and when the theif returned home his daughter found the shinlai pup before he could hide it away. She insisted upon keeping the baby as she had instantly fallen in love with it. She was young and delicate and her family was a very well-to-do in a classy ‘neighborhood’ she babied the tiny pup and loved him to pieces. However when Talen got a little older his play became a little rougher and when the little girl got scratched her mother and grandmother where furious and demanded the creature be killed. However the little girl begged and pleaded for her pets life and the only compromise was to take away the beasts claws. The father was instructed to cut off the clawed portion of each toe. The little pup fought hard but was no match for the large man and he was in the end ‘de-clawed’ the uncle in the family was a well-respected doctor and he tended to the pup after the fact so the toes could at least begin to look normal in a few years. The little girl carried the infant shinlai around with her everywhere while all four of his tiny feet where wrapped in bandages and she took great care to change them regularly.
The little pup knew no better than to become attached to the little girl but somehow he still knew that she was not ‘mom’.

When talen turned 5 years old he was nearly as big as the young girl who was only about 10. She and talen where playing when he found her to be a bit too rough, however he was unable to communicate this and he was getting hurt and frustrated as she jumped on him and tugged his horns.

It was only meant to make her see she was hurting him, it wasn’t meant to hurt, but the quick snap left a very deep puncture in the wee girls arm and this tiem there was no compromise. He was to be killed. Again the father who had originally stolen the pup was charged with the task, however before he could do so the little girl stole away in the night and took Talen far into the woods and ‘set him free’, Talen did not want to go nor did her understand why he couldn’t stay. The child threw rocks and sticks and yelled at him to go and ‘be free’.

Eventually she had to trick him into playing a game of hide and seek, instructing him to hide and once he was hidden she left.
Talen waited all night in the hollowed crevice of a dead tree for his friend to find him, but she never came back and he was suddenly alone. He began wandering to try and find her but in the wrong direction he was headed towards Norport
